Community Projects:
People & Places: Neighborhood Project: Detailing neighbourhoods and ethnic diversity in early Ladysmith. Available for loan.
ONE Community, Different Cultures: Networking & collaboration workshop to bring heritage groups together, to increase awareness, understanding and co-operation. This resulted in the formation of the Mid Island Heritage Network.
The Beat Goes On – Music in Ladysmith: DIGITAL MUSEUM OF CANADA. Community Stories: Online history of Music in Ladysmith with video, sound, photos, commentary, text. In production.
A Walk Through Time – a self-guided series of walks with points of heritage interest.
Volunteers and the Town of Ladysmith are updating Heritage Metal Collage by Gatacre and First Avenue in Ladysmith.
Adopt A Photo Project in order to expand and digitize our community Timeline. Photographers shoot ‘now’ photos to match the perspective of existing ‘heritage’ photos. NOW & THEN PHOTOS PROJECT
Industrial Artifact Preservation: Ongoing work refurbishing and researching the industrial heritage artifacts located at the former Comox Logging & Railway Co. site. Ask about how you can “adopt” an artifact’s restoration.
