- “Earthquake Ladysmith” details the history of earthquakes on Vancouver Island and the impending “Big One,” examining its likely effects on Ladysmith and what you could/should do to prepare.
• “Ladysmith Fires: Risks and Prevention” look at local fires through the ages and the story of the Ladysmith Fire Department.

Heritage Video Programming
Work is ongoing recording oral histories. The Lives & Legends Heritage Video Series along with archival photos, video and audio is available on the society’s YouTube Channel. Sponsors needed.
Special Events Programming
BC Family Day, BC Heritage Week, Ladysmith Maritime Society’s Heritage Boat Festival, Hometown Tourist Weekend, Ladysmith Show & Shine, Arts on the Avenue, Ladysmith Light Up, and Old Time Christmas.
Located at the Ladysmith Museum, the learning Centre is currently developing community programming that includes movie matinees. speakers, arts & crafts geared for all ages.
Ladysmith Heritage Awards
The Ladysmith & District Historical Society in partnership with the Town of Ladysmith and Ladysmith Chamber of Commerce manages the Ladysmith Heritage Awards. The annual awards will be presented during BC Heritage Week in mid-Febrary 2021. The Ladysmith Heritage Awards nominations are being accepted now. Deadline for submission is Nov. 30, 2020.
Anyone can nominate, including nominating themselves, their business or their society.
