120 Methuen Street - Ladysmith & District Historical Society

120 Metheun Street, between 1st Avenue and 2nd Avenue, was built in 1941 according to BC government records but it appears on the 1911 Fire Insurance Map of Ladysmith so it obviously dates back to at least 1911.

120 Methuen Street was sold on 10 August 2018 for $485,000. It has undergone significant renovations since 2014.

We had the following information from Sandy Nazaruk, whose family lived in this house at 120 Methuen Street until the 1990’s:

“My father was born to this house in 1914 so it is older than the the 1941 you indicated on your site [note: the L&DHS took the 1941 construction date from government records. We will do more research in light of Sandy Nazaruk‘s information]. Dad lived in the house until his passing in 1982. Mom sold it in the early 1990’s when she moved into an apartment. I have very fond memories of growing up in this house.”
