230 3rd Avenue

230 3rd Avenue, between White Street and Baden-Powell Street, was built in 1937 according to BC government records. But the homeowner tells us the house was actually brought to Ladysmith from Extension and erected on this site circa 1905. We will do more research on this and post what we find.

Although BC government records show 230 3rd Avenue, between White Street and Baden-Powell Street, as being built in 1937,  the homeowner tells us the house appears on the 1910 Fire Insurance Map and was actually brought to Ladysmith from Extension and erected on this site circa 1905. We will do more research on this and post what we find.

230 3rd Avenue still has an original coal shed on the property. This coal shed would have been built at, or close to, the time the house was built. It is one of the last last extant coal sheds still standing in Ladysmith.

This original coal shed at 230 3rd Avenue dates circa 1905. It is one the last exant coal sheds in Ladysmith. This photograph was taken in 2012.(photo: Micheal Fine)

We will add more historical information in future.
