Traditional Dinner and Annual Ladysmith Heritage Awards 2026: An opportunity to explore and celebrate our multicultural community.
5:30pm Thursday February 26th at the Ladysmith Secondary School.
In the spirit of the theme of this year’s BC Heritage Week theme ‘Stir the Pot’, the Ladysmith & District Historical Society and participants in the Ladysmith Secondary School’s Land and Language Program are working together to welcome you to a First Nation Traditional Dinner followed by presentation of the 7th Annual Ladysmith Heritage Awards.
The meal will be conducted in accordance with Stz’uminus cultural tradition: all are welcome and there is no charge. Those in the Town wishing to attend are asked to collect a printed invitation from the Ladysmith Archives by February 20th and bring it with them on the day. At time of writing, arrangements are being made for printed invitations to be available to the Stz’uminus First Nation – details to be provided later on facebook.
The Annual Ladysmith Heritage Awards recognise individuals or groups within our community who have played a significant role in preserving and promoting local heritage through their actions or initiatives. This year four very worthy recipients will be honored:
